Pelargonium cells of known number were cultured in conical nylon containers Growth of cells reaggregated in direct physical contact with one another in this manner was compared with growth of cells in suspension. There was a lag phase in both systems at low cell densities However, the exponential growth phase for cells in suspension was at the same rate, regardless of cell number, while the exponential growth rate for cells in the reaggregates varied with the number of cells present
