Abstract
Conditions are given which result in a synchronous culture of stage I sporangiophores (spph) of Phycomyces. These stage I spph grow at the normal rate of 24 mm/day but reamin undifferentiated for at least 3 days. The number of spph growing per unit area can be increased by blue light illumination under certain conditions.
