Abstract

Comments on the article by S. C. South and N. J. DeYoung (see record 2012-01744-001). This commentary articulates how behavior genetics research could influence personality disorder (PD) classification. South and DeYoung also critique the bases offered by the working group for retaining certain PDs and not others. Although the present author agrees with South and DeYoung that "more information is needed on implementation of the proposed personality trait system" (p. 279)-overall I believe adopting the DSM-5 working group proposal would significantly improve PD research and practice.
