Abstract

This research exploits the effectiveness of employing animations pictures on pupils' mastery of the skills of English at fourth stage . The research adopts the following assumptions :- the use of animation in teaching promotes and develops the skills of language . The effect of animation is quite different in relation to gender . It is also assumed that there is a correlation between pupils' general proficiency in the English Language and the mastery of the four skills . The sample of the study consists of (98) pupils at fourth stage , taken from Al-Nasiriya secondary school . Two units from the fourth grade secondary school were chosen to be taught by using animations technique .The sample of the exam is distributed into dominant and testing group . The testing group were taught by using animations technique and computer , while people in the dominant group were taught by the traditional way . The conclusions showed the existence of crucial discrepancies in the achievement rates of the two groups as far as the matter of the English language is concerned , because of the use of animation technique . In addition to that there are crucial discrepancies in pupils' performance in relation to gender , girls get marks higher than those of boys .
