Abstract
A 2D scalar model is used to analyze the dependence of the properties of the field observed in the case of scattering by a metal body on the field that may exist inside of a closed cavity having the same shape as the body’s surface. The auxiliary field introduced in this analysis is similar to an eigenfunction involved in one of the versions of the generalized method of eigenoscillations.
