Abstract
Mammalian Nei-like DNA glycosylase 2 (NEIL2) is a multifunctional protein; it initiates the repair of oxidized DNA bases from the transcriptionally active sequences and also acts as an anti-inflammatory factor. We recently demonstrated that NEIL2 regulates NFkB-mediated gene expression by competing with NFkB for promoter occupancy. Here we examined the role of NEIL2 in expression of NFkB-regulated genes that are known to contribute to allergic lung inflammation.
