Abstract
Loss to stored produce by rodent attack occurs more from contamination than from actual consumption. The problem of rodent damage to growing crops is both more complex and more serious. Protective methods include high standards of crop hygiene, efficient harvesting and reduction of cover and food available to the pest species. The development of warfarin and related compounds constituted a major advance in chemical control but the problem of resistance has yet to be solved.
