Abstract

Experimental data collected in heavy ion collisions at RHIC energies strongly support quark matter formation and the presence of quark coalescence at these energies. Hadronization of quark matter and hadron formation in heavy ion collisions can be described by the coalescence process, and measured data could have been reproduced successfully. Theoretical calculations are based on a quantum mechanical description of coalescence. Here we investigate the robustness of the coalescence description, using different wave-function overlap during hadron formation.
