Abstract

AbstractThe influence of triphenylphosphine and organoaluminium additives of various composition on the activity of titanium dichloride in polymerization of ethylene and propene as well as on the structure of the polypropylene obtained is studied. When these additives are introduced into highly active samples of TiCl2, the polymerization rate decreases, whereas the stereospecificity of the catalytic system increases. On the basis of these and earlier data, conclusions are drawn about the composition of active centers and about the role of organometallic cocatalysts in formation of active centers, in chain propagation, and in formation of stereoregular polymer.
