Abstract

This commentary discusses the recent rise of social movements against structural oppressions in Zimbabwe and opportunities for social work towards social justice and change. These movements, such as #This Flag and #Tajamuka/Sesijikile, have become a source of hope for many Zimbabweans who are yearning for social and political change. The article proffers lessons and insights that social work in Zimbabwe can draw from these developments, such as political mobilisation through social media.
