Abstract

The twenty-first century has witnessed the rise of female science fiction (SF) writers in China. This development marks a significant transformation in the history of Chinese SF. However, very few studies of these works exist. This chapter examines some of the works of Chinese female SF writers side by side with those of male SF writers to lay out the contributions they make to the Chinese SF field and the challenges they face.
