There were a total of 337922 incidents of crimes against women in 2014. They have more than doubled over the past ten years from 155553 in 2005 to 337922 in 2014 according to latest data released by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). 26 crimes against women are reported every hour in India
Summary
Prevailed in the society since times immemorial. Some of them continue today as well. It has been a long and partially successful journey to bring about social, political, and economic empowerment of women. Women empowerment involves upliftment of political, social and economic status of women in the society.
