Abstract
To enable a person to start a career in an acute hospital trust as a clinical support worker (CSW), it is essential that he or she receives the right start. CSWs fulfil an important role in health today, and have a key role in the patient experience. This article describes how the development of an induction programme for CSWs and the standardisation of induction processes at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. It states how this prepares the CSWs for their role, starting them on a path that offers professional development and career progression.
