Abstract
What return should an investor expect to earn by a firm implementing a share repurchase policy? If the choice is between a cash dividend and a share repurchase, then the return expected to be earned is not relevant. We do not compute the return earned by a cash dividend and need not compute the return expected to be earned by a stock repurchase program.
