Abstract

On latticed steel towers with square sections using angle steel, the type of microwave telecommunication towers most commonly used by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation or N.T.T., a full-scale observation of actual towers was conducted and response characteristics were investigated. The response analysis was performed assuming stationary random process and its reasonableness studied in comparison with the observed results. As a result, the along-wind response and the torsional response can be explained from the response estimation formulas based on stationary approach introduced in this paper.
