Abstract

We have calculated the quantum translation and breather motions of spin density wave (SDW) solitons in the 1 2 - filled one-dimensional (1D) Hubbard model. The effective masses of these solitons are about 0.1 times as heavy as the electron mass, therefore, they are potentially good charge or spin carriers. The quantum fluctuations only by the neutral soliton breather explain more than 60% of the correlation energy, indicating that they are important quantum fluctuations in the ground state. Moreover, the breather also explains rapidly decreasing component of spin correlation.
