Abstract

Homerl a is a short form Homer protein that is the member of the PSD proteins. This product of neuronal immediate early gene is rapidly and transiently induced by physiological synaptic activity. Long - form Homer proteins and Shank proteins bind to and colocalize with mGluRs, iGluRs and other functionally synaptic proteins, which can be antagonized by the short, activity - dependent splice variant -Homerla. Homerl a affects critically in the signal transduction, distribution and orientation of receptors, the synaptogenesis, the functions and plasticity of synapse. Recently, we are paying our attention to its influence on signal transmission and promising therapeutic target for the treatment of pain. Key words: homerla; IEG; mGluR Ⅰ ; NMDAR; pain
