Abstract

It proposes a parallel speedy hybrid hierarchical bounding volumes algorithm (SHBVS) oriented to virtual surgery of fast collision detection algorithm in this paper. Considering the quick intersect test and updating of Axis-Aligned Bounding Box (AABB) and the tightness of oriented Bounding Box (OBB), we construct this hybrid hierarchical bounding volumes. Then we built the task trees by traversing the mixed hierarchical bounding volumes and speeded up the collision detection algorithm by applying a parallel computing and introduce a space-time correlations concept to accelerate the speed of updating of the bounding box at the same time. The experimental results show that the algorithm can efficiently solve the hierarchical bounding box on a single collision detection in space-time correlations, and it's also a good way to solve the problem of low efficiency of the bounding box update time consuming after software changes.
