Abstract
The rapid development of computer science and technology is gradually affecting audio-visual art and other applied arts. As new digital media technologies constantly evolve and their applications and forms gradually expand, they are becoming indispensable parts in guide design as well as exhibition design. Against the background of current era, traditional form of exhibition in geological museums cannot meet the needs of visitors. The application of digital media art in the form of 3D animation can change the traditional exhibition, enhance the dissemination of information, increase the interaction between museums and visitors, improve their initiative and understanding, and enable geological museums to play a more positive role in the development of society and culture. The application of digital media art in the exhibition design of today's geological museums conforms to development trend of the society and the demand of the times. This thesis aims to explore the application of digital media art in the exhibition design of geological museums through relevant theoretical research and participation in the practice.
