Abstract

Background Fibroblast growth factor(FGF)10 is a member of the FGF family, mainly expressed in epithelial cells and mesenchymal cells, fibroblasts of adult liver, lungs, brain, intestines and other organs. It plays diverse roles in different organs and tissues, such as angiogenesis, promoting wound healing, participating in the process of embryo development. Objective This review will lay a good foundation for further study on the physiological function and mechanism of the role of FGF10. Content This paper reviews recent progresses on the role of FGF10 in development of organs in lung, fat, heart, prostate, breast and other organs and also function of FGF10 related with cancer, stroke and myocardial infarction. Trend It would provide new ideas on the prevention and treatment of perioperative stroke to a certain extent.
