Abstract

The paper is devoted to the activities of the Representative Office of the People's Commissariat of Health of the Soviet Russia in France during the period of active economic and scientific and technical cooperation in the second half of the 1920s. After the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, official contacts between the USSR and France on medical and health issues became possible. The permanent head of the Representative Office of the People's Commissariat for Health the Soviet Russia in France was Dr. A.N. Rubakin. The representative office of the People's Commissariat of Health of the Soviet Russia in France collected and systematized information material from France on medicine and health care, served doctors sent from the USSR to France, and participated in the publication of joint Soviet-French journals. In 1928 the Representative Office of the People's Commissariat of Health in France was merged with the Representative Office of the Union of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
