Abstract

The reorganization of the administration of temporal goods in the Diocese of Dresden-Meisen concerns the cooperation of the responsible councils on the level of the diocese and the administration of temporal goods in the parishes. First, it is necessary to explain the proper purposes of temporal possessions in the church in general terms. This is not an end in itself, but serves the church as a realitas complexa to fulfill the tasks of her own mission. Especially in this kind of administration the Church needs the coresponsibility of faithful Christians with their economic competence. By their involvement on the parish finance councils, they can fruitfully contribute their experience and competence, which a pastor usually does not possess. Finally, the new law on the administration of parish temporal goods as well as regulations at diocesan level are presented in a nutshell.
