Abstract

In the proposed article, the religious image of Abai in the writer Mukhtar Auezov's novel-epopee “Abai's way” is considered. Special attention is paid to the examples of actions, usage of words, relations with other people of the religious figures of the society. Those examples are selected especially in lateral connection with the life and perspective of the protagonist Abay Kunanbayev. The artist skillfully and rationally uses the various themes in the structure of the work and the social issues raised in it, the wide range of literary and theoretical opportunities in the portrayal of the protagonist. In this case, the authors of the article are based on the author's thoughts on his writing skills and experience, as well as the opinion of the writers who wrote about him. The authors of the article mention not only the image of religious people, mullahs and believers, old men, but also the worldviews of each religiously literate character in the work. They also highly value all those religious thoughts depicted by M. Auezov in the novel. The article also shows the great knowledge and special depth of Arabic-Muslim literacy of the author M. Auezov.
 Literature itself plays a great deal of role depicting a certain society in order to save the values for the next generations to come. In the book Abai’s Way, M. Auezov successfully draws attention to Abai’s perspective on Islam and Islamic practices. He portrays Abai depicting the general perspective of Kazakh on Islam.
