Abstract

As the Western Hemisphere shakes off the shivering winter woes and welcomes the warmth of spring, many of us will be observing particular festivities. Easter is now represented by both the secular and seasonal celebrations of blossoming fields and flowers, and the Christian religious remembrance of the Passion and Resurrection. (It is also and an excuse to eat chocolate eggs in the UK.) At the same time, the Jewish holiday of Passover, the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi and the Hindu festival of Shri Ram Navami will be commemorated. As the world and our working environments become more multicultural, an awareness of the major principles and practices of faiths and religions, as well as non-religious organisations, can improve the care we offer. This month’s Web Words looks at internet resources on the calendar of religious and spiritual events.
