Abstract

Urban public passenger road transport occupies a special place in public life. It is included in the complex of social infrastructure sectors, i.e., industries related to the reproduction of labor force and functioning of population, along with health care, education, retail, housing and communal services, leisure activities, etc. Urban public passenger road transport has a significant impact on the economic and social development of administrative-territorial units, can act as a means of accelerating or slowing down the development of cities, and provides or, conversely, prevents the population from receiving vital services. The attractiveness of the relevant municipality for investment, the strategy of its territorial development depends, among other things, on the development of the system of urban public passenger road transport. Thus, urban public passenger road transport performs a number of important social functions. At the same time, transportation activities are carried out by business entities. For them, this activity is an area of initiative, freedom, it is aimed at making a profit from the provision of transportation services. Passenger transport is one of the most important sectors of the economy. The results of its activities account for a significant share in the volume of paid transport services to the population. Passenger transport has a significant impact on the development and efficiency of production, contributes to an increase in the standard of living of the population.
