Abstract
The instability of perpendicular aperiodic fluctuations in a magnetized overall-neutral two-stream distribution function with relativistic speeds is investigated. It is demonstrated that there exists a critical magnetic field strength, above which the filamentation instability is not excited. The theory is applied to relativistic jets in AGNs, microquasars, and radio lobes in large radio galaxies.
