The relative intensity of the positon branch in the l-forbidden transition from the ground state of Co 56 into the second excited state of Fe 56

Abstract

The relative intensity of the position branch in the transition from the ground state of Co 56 into the second excited state of Co 56 was measured by two different methods and calculated also from the γ-intensity data of Cook and Tomnovec. The weighted average of the three values is 0.893 ± 0.084 and the theoretical datum is 0.907. Finally some discussion is given on the ϵ/β + ratio in l-forbidden transitions.
