Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of metabotropic glutamate reccptor 1a(mGluR1a) in rat brain of acute liver failure models, and to investigate the relationship between mGluR1a and hepatic encephalopathy and cerebral edema. Methods Random number table was used to divide forty male rats into 2 groups:15 in control group and 25 in experiment group.Acute liver failure models were made using thioacetamide(TAA),and the morphology and substructure of brain cells were observed by hematoxylin-eosin stain and transmission electron microscope. The mGluR1a expression in brain were observed by immunohistochemistry stain and quantified by computerized image analyzer. Results Acute liver failure model were built successfully.Compared with the control group, the acute liver failure rats presented severe hepatic encephalopathy, and obvious cerebral edema was observed in the brain cells.Furthermore,mGluR1 a expression was upgraded in this group. Conclusions TAA can induce acute liver failure model. The acute liver failure rats present severe hepatic encephalopathy and cerebral edema.Expression of mGluR1 a was upgraded in the brain tissue and Was associated with hepatic encephalopathy and cerebral edema. Key words: Acute liver failure; Metabotropic glutamate reccptor 1 a; Cerebral edema
