Abstract

The study of the stress-strain relation together with X-ray orientation provides very important information about the state of order inside textile fibres. The point of inflection in the elastic curve, namely the yield point, is significant. For most materials, it not only indicates the shape of the curve, but also decides the elastic recovery of the material. This paper suggests that the yield point is mainly decided by the space order, namely the crystallinity of the fibre, the crystallite size and the crystallite stacking.
