Abstract

Data on the relationship between uniaxial anisotropy (Ku) and composition in a series of Ca, Ge substituted rare earth iron garnets for use in magnetic bubble memory devices are presented. These results largely support Eschenfelder's model, and a small modification to this model is proposed which improves the accuracy of the Ku prediction.
