Abstract
By using the data from 1999 to 2013, this paper studies the relationship between foreign trade commodity structure and industrial structure of Fujian province. Our empirical research firstly showed that there is long-term stable relationship between export, import commodity structure and industrial structure. Secondly, our research finds that the industrial structure and import commodity structure are Granger reason to each other while the industrial structure and export structure does not have this correlation. B ased on the Harmonized System, the export and import goods are clarified as manufactured goods and primary goods. It is widely believed that the primary goods are relatively low value-added goods and have relative low competitiveness while the high value-added goods are summarized as manufactured goods. And as a result, the share of manufactured goods in total export are widely used as an index to measure the competitiveness of trade for a specific region.
