Abstract

Objective To understand the relationship between the post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) and coping style in Community residents after the emergency of group injury. Methods The aged 15 years and older residents along the zhong-wan street were assessed with DSM-IV-TR axis I disorder in September 5, 2009 to November 5 and diagnosed with DSM-IV. At the same time they were evaluated by Coping style Questionnaire.The relationship of the post-traumatic stress disorder between the coping style, the demographic characteristics and the degree of exposure were analyzed. Results (1)In comparison of the illness-free group and PTSD group, the coping style have significant difference.The scores of the avoidance, fantasy, guilt and rationalization in PTSD group(0.60±0.21, 0.59±0.21, 0.47±0.30, 0.56±0.21) were higher than the illness-free group(0.43±0.25, 0.43±0.24, 0.24±0.25, 0.40±0.23)(t=8.033, 7.346, 8.314, 7.198, P<0.01). (2)Older age, divorce or widow , more exposure and guilt were significantly associated with PTSD. Conclusions The negative coping style is the dangerous factor of PTSD.The important content of the psychological crisis intervention is to guide relevant person deal with active coping style after the stress.
