Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between spouses' positive experience and self-efficacy of elderly stroke patients in community.Methods 85 stroke patients and their spouses in two communities were conveniently selected and investigated with Positive Aspects of Caregiver (PAC),General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES),and to analyze the relationship between spouses' positive experience and self-efficacy.Results The mean score of the spouses' positive experience was (22.68±6.07) points; the mean score of the spouses' self-efficacy was (21.30±5.99) points; spouses' positive experience was positively correlated with self-efficacy.Conclusions The positive experience was common in spouses of elderly stroke patients in community; there was a positive correlation between positive experience and self-efficacy.The nursing staff in the community should do something to strengthen spouses' self-efficacy to improve their positive experience,and to improve the quality of caring and quality of life.
