Abstract

PURPOSE This study aimed to test the fit of the model, investigate the direct and indirect relationship between serious leisure, leisure satisfaction, and subjective well-being through the verified model, and analyzing mediator variables through the survey of relationships between serious leisure, leisure satisfaction, and subjective well-being. METHOD This study took the university sport participation teachers in Hunan province as the survey subject. The data analysis process was divided into two stages. In the first stage, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test the reliability and validity of the scale. In the second stage, structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was used to test the proposed hypothesis. RESULT This study explored the interrelationship of serious leisure, leisure satisfaction, and subjective well-being through quantitative analysis and empirical studies. Through the establishment and verification of the structural equation mode, the following conclusions were drawn: First, serious leisure directly affects leisure satisfaction. Second, serious leisure directly affects subjective well-being. Third, leisure satisfaction directly affects subjective well-being. Fourth, serious leisure indirectly affects subjective well-being through leisure satisfaction, and leisure satisfaction has an intermediary effect, which manifests as intermediary effect. CONCLUSION It was found that serious leisure of university teachers is an important factor in improving leisure satisfaction and psychological well-being. A serious leisure education program should be developed to improve the psychological well-being of university teachers.
