Abstract

To describe the current state of physical activity of Chinese college students studying in Russia during the COVID-19 period, and to examine the strength of the relationship between physical activity and quality of life, to provide reference materials for improving the quality of life of Chinese students studying in Russia during the COVID-19 period. Using the general self-awareness questionnaire, the SF 36 self-assessment scale for the quality of life and the International Sports Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), 486 Chinese students studying in Russia were interviewed and collected, and the relevant information was studied. The χ2 test was used to compare the distribution of the quality of life of college students with different demographic characteristics, and the generalized linear model and the binary logistic regression model were used to analyze the relationship between physical activity and quality of life. The results showed that the indicators of detecting bad, average and good quality of life of students were 62.4%, 32.8% and 4.8%, respectively. Analysis of the generalized linear model shows that the quality of life of students positively correlates with physical activity of moderate intensity (OR = 0.71, 95% Cl = 0.69-0.81) and high physical activity (OR = 0.86, 95% CI = 0.79-0.95). And with an increase in the degree of physical activity, the strength of the correlation between physical activity and quality of life gradually increased (P <0.05). This study shows that there is a positive correlation between physical activity and student quality of life during home isolation from the novel coronavirus. This study suggests that college students should increase their physical activity during periods of home isolation due to the novel coronavirus in order to improve their quality of life.
