Abstract

Variation of pH over the range 6.2–7.4 had no effect on the Ca 2+ titration curve of glycerinated rabbit psoas muscle fibers. Thus the effect of H + on muscle contraction is not due to a simple H +Ca 2+ competition for binding sites.
