Abstract

The current project aims to find the link between perception of God, feeling of loneliness and dysfunctional attitude of university students in Azad University of Amol County. A descriptive correlational method was employed. The research population consisted of students in Azad University of Amol in academic year of 2015-16. Cluster random sampling was used to for the selection of subjects and based on research population, 200 students were used in this research. The research instrument included a reliable and standardized questionnaire based Lawrence perception of God scale, Russell loneliness scale and dysfunctional attitude. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data, and Pearson correlation coefficient in SPSS was employed for inferential statistics. The results of analysis revealed a meaningful relationship between perception of God, feeling of loneliness and dysfunctional attitude. The results also showed that perception of God and feeling of loneliness influence students’ ineffective attitude. This meaningful relationship was also found between each component of the research, namely, perception of God, feeling of loneliness and ineffective attitude and the other.
