Abstract

Children who are still growing and developing in health prevention and care really need the role of parents. Students who experience dental and oral problems often do not receive attention from their parents so these children are not taken to dental health service facilities for treatment. The research carried out was included in the type of analytical observational research or analytical survey, using a cross- sectional approach design. The sample in the study consisted of 34 students and 34 parents taken using total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using examination sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate analysis, Chi-square test to determine the relationship between parental behavior regarding dental health and the dental health status of elementary school age children. The results of the Chi-square statistical test showed that the p-value was 0.05, so Ha was rejected and Ho was accepted, so there was no significant relationship between parents' knowledge and attitudes towards the dental health status of elementary school aged children at SDN 3 Medayu
