Abstract

To the Editor: Bullous pemphigoid (BP) has been found to be associated with a range of neurologic conditions.1 However, an association with motor neuron disease (MND) has only been suggested in a case report,2 which found 3 BP cases in a population of 168 people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (a form of MND). This association has not been confirmed by any epidemiologic studies to date. A nationwide study in Taiwan examined 4856 patients with BP and found only 1 patient with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
