Abstract

This study is to identify the relationship between maternal satisfaction and types of delivery in adult women. The subjects of this paper were 148 inpatients who had visited a general hospital which located in the area of metropolitan from March 18 to May 16, 2014. All statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS package program for χ-test, and t-test. The results are as follows. First, for the during labor stage, 1, 539 minutes of epidural analgesia group were significantly longer than 415 minutes of spontaneous delivery group(t=3.15, p<.01). Second, for meconium stain in newborns, 35.9% of epidural analgesia group was significantly higher than 21.4% of spontaneous delivery group(X=9.86, p<.05). Therefore, these findings suggest that diverse maternal education programs for adult women must be developed and these programs needed to increase the effect of it through organized and continuous maternal education.
