Abstract
Aim: The precise mechanisms of carotid calcification and its clinical significance have not been clearly elucidated yet. We used the calcium score (CaS) to analyze carotid plaque calcification, focusing on its relationship with symptoms and discuss the difference in transitional patterns and clinical outcomes compared with previous reports regarding calcified coronary plaques.
