Abstract
A general field theoretical derivation of the relation between the enhancement factor of the photonuclear E1 sum rule (1 + κ) and the orbital angular momentum g-factor of a bound nucleon ( g ℓ) is presented in the framework of the Landau-Migdal theory. The relation to the isovector giant dipole resonance is also discussed.
