Leukemia is a malignant hematological disease characterized by excessive proliferation of one of the hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow and infiltration into various organs and systems. Many research findings have shown that the poor prognosis in leukemia is closely related to p53 gene mutation, many regulation factors including IRF, MDM2/MDMX, and Runx1 involve in regulating of p53 gene expression. This review briefly discusses the progress of the regulatory mechanisms of p53 gene in poor prognosis of leukemia. Key words: p53; Leukemia; Poor prognosis
