Abstract

A growing number of studies have been published that focus on the determinants of inbound foreign direct investment (FDI) at the national level, but relatively few studies investigate the forces affecting the distribution of FDI between UK regions. This chapter seeks to rectify this omission, by identifying a set of factors that may be expected to influence the regional distribution of FDI based on an analysis and synthesis of existing theoretical and empirical literature.
