Abstract

In recent years, Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) developed by Charles Ragin has remarkably gained in popularity among management and strategy researchers. To showcase the power of the configurational perspective rooted in QCA, this symposium brings together five studies employing a set-theoretic approach. These studies examine configurations at multiple levels of analysis, ranging from the individual level to the firm level, to the firm in international context, with the number of observations ranging from hundreds to thousands of cases. Finally, the first four papers present substantive applications, while the fifth paper rounds off the symposium by focusing on methodological innovation focusing on longitudinal data analysis.
