Abstract
SynopsisThe dipole(γ, γ) method based on the inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS) technique is proposed and realized to measure the absolute optical oscillator strength (OOSs) for the valence-shell excitations of atoms and molecules. The OOSs of valence- shell excitations of helium are determined, and the good agreement with the previous results is observed.
