Abstract

This paper considers the realization of the opencircuit impedance matrix or short-circuit admittance matrix of multiport networks containing positive resistors and two types of positive and negative reactive elements. A transformerless canonical structure is derived which employs the minimum number of resistors and at most <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">n</tex> negative-LC driving-point impedances, where <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">n</tex> is the order of the immittance matrix realized.
