The real time generation scheduling model considering automatic generation control

Abstract

In order to improve the operational level of dispatch department and integrate the real-time generation scheduling and the automatic generation control, this paper presents real-time control mode conversion mechanism to establish coordinated operation mechanism of real-time generation schedules and automatic generation control. The units are divided into three control types: automatic generation control unit, the transitional unit and planning unit. The three types of units are modeled separately. Automatic generation control unit and the transitional unit control mode can be converted to each other, and the reserve is dynamic allocated between three types of units. The IEEE 118-bus system for the model is tested. The results show that the model is feasible and effective to schedule the real-time generation plan considering the automatic generation control, which can allocate the reserve legitimately, reduce the pressure of automatic generation control and use the reserve effectively.
