Abstract

I am writing this column just after the IEEE/Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ) International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2011), which was held 25–30 September in San Francisco. IROS 2011 is financially cosponsored by four organizations: IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), RSJ, and Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE).
