Abstract

The problem of determining critical conditions in a chemically reactive slab when the surface is partially insulated has been examined. A lower bound for the critical Frank-Kamenetskii parameter, which is a function of the insulation widthe and the activation energy parameterβ(β=R T 0/E), has been determined. Forβ=0 this bound is identical to that given by Khudyaev's method.
